IT for Medical Clinics

Medical clinic IT support built around clinical workflows, secure communication and reliable access.

Consult rooms, reception, billing, bookings, secure messaging, pathology and radiology results, telehealth and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace all depend on the IT underneath them. We manage that foundation and coordinate with clinical-software suppliers where needed.

What we manage around every consult and referral

Clinical access

Consult-room environment

Workstations, monitors, printers and reliable network access across every consulting and treatment room, so clinical software works the same way in every room.

Practice software

Patient records & practice management

Workstations, network access and user permissions around practice management and patient record systems such as Best Practice, MedicalDirector, Zedmed and Genie, including appointment booking, billing, Medicare/HICAPS integration and referral letters.

Connectivity

Secure communication & telehealth

LAN, Wi-Fi, internet and firewalling, plus support for secure messaging, telehealth video consults, pathology, radiology and referral workflows.

Cloud

Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace

Email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, MFA, account security and staff lifecycle management.

Security

Access & device protection

MFA, device security, email protection, network segmentation, secure remote access and user permissions.

Continuity

Backup & failover

Backup strategy, recovery planning, UPS and secondary-internet options to reduce the impact of outages.

Technical issues that interrupt patient appointments

Clinical software

Works on one PC, not the one next to it

Same software, same network, and somehow only one machine behaves. It's almost never random.

Secure messaging

Results aren't coming through properly

Messaging and results platforms rely on local network and workstation setup that's easy to overlook until it fails.

Wi‑Fi

Consult-room Wi‑Fi that comes and goes

Inconsistent signal in exactly the rooms where you need it most.

New starters

A new practitioner needs access, today

Email, clinic systems, printers. Getting someone properly set up shouldn't take until lunchtime.

Reception

Printing, scanning or payments not connecting

The unglamorous stuff that quietly brings the front desk to a halt.

Growing or moving

Relocating with several suppliers all waiting on each other

Nobody wants to be the reason the new site can't open on time.

We support the IT around your medical software and connected systems. Clinical application support, medical-device servicing and clinical setup stay with the relevant software or equipment provider.

Privacy, security & clinical information

Medical clinics depend on reliable access to sensitive health information. We can help put technical safeguards around clinical systems, email, devices and networks. Application suppliers remain responsible for their own software and integrations.

Identity

Staff access

MFA, unique accounts, least-privilege permissions, secure joining and leaving and controlled remote access.

Clinical network

Segmentation & protection

Firewalls, device protection, patching, encryption where appropriate and separation of guest, staff and clinical / device traffic.

Resilience

Backup & incident readiness

Backup and restore planning, UPS, internet failover, logging and practical incident-response preparation.

In Australia, private health providers are covered by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. NSW providers are also subject to the HRIP Act and its 15 Health Privacy Principles. Eligible breaches fall under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and My Health Record has extra requirements for participating clinics. HIPAA is a US framework and isn't the default privacy law here. We help with technical safeguards, not legal compliance certification.

Frequently asked questions

Can you support clinics using Best Practice, MedicalDirector, Zedmed, Genie or other software?

Whichever practice software you're running, we manage the workstations, servers where relevant, network, connectivity and security around it. We work directly with the clinical-software supplier when an issue sits inside their application.

Can you help with HealthLink and results connectivity?

The local workstation, network and connectivity side, yes. Anything specific to the messaging platform itself sits with its provider.

Can you set up a new medical clinic?

Internet, cabling, network, Wi‑Fi, computers, phones, cloud accounts, security, backup and supplier coordination, planned before you open, not scrambled together the week of.

Can you make a clinic HIPAA compliant?

Not exactly, and it's worth explaining why. HIPAA is a US framework that only applies where a clinic genuinely falls within its scope. What we can do is put technical safeguards in place, multi-factor authentication, device security, encryption, network controls, backup and logging. Australian clinics should be looking at the Australian Privacy Principles and NSW health-privacy rules instead.

Clinic resilience

Plan for the day the internet, a PC or an account stops working.

Reliable infrastructure, sensible access controls, backup and failover planning all reduce the chance that one technical failure shuts down the whole clinic.
